Description
Clinicians encounter inadequacies in their daily dental practice, in terms of minimal tooth structure, for proper fixed restoration due to extensive subgingival caries or tooth fractures. These problems can lead to difficulties in delivering optimum restorative results. Restorative procedures require sound periodontal support for long term success. To achieve a more predictable long-term restorative result, it is imperative for dentists to gain appropriate knowledge of how functional crown lengthening procedures can contribute to achieve this goal. This workshop will aid participants in understanding the rationale and the biologic basis for crown lengthening procedures and demonstrate the key surgical steps in performing functional crown lengthening.
